TBT: Last Sunday a few friends and I hiked up the old Fighting Creek Road (the old road to Laurel Falls and Elkmont) to Laurel Falls parking lot. The old road (which was a new road at the time along its old road) was closed due to flooding of the creek. Then, todays road was built which didnt go along the creek. The car in the photo is up at the last switchback before getting to todays Laurel Falls parking lot. About quarter mile down todays gully off the highway. The Teaster family use to live down at the old creek crossing bridge and later moved up and down past todays Laurel Falls parking areas (Elkmont side) and lived at the quiet walkway place. Fallen chimney still remains there.
