TECTONIC is actively seeking certified Construction Inspectors to work on projects for our SaddleBrook, NJ Office. The essential functions of this position will include: • Interpret drawings and documents, including work orders, build documents and manufacturing processes; • Verify that materials, equipment, and procedures are as specific for the project, as well as testing of procedure qualifications; • Utilize required testing equipment in order to perform necessary tests; • Must have understanding of specifications required for given projects; • Communicate with clients, contractors, other inspectors and supervisors regarding specifications and qualification test results; • Identify and control all non-conforming products; • Prepare written reports in accordance with qualification tests; • All other duties as assigned. Candidates must possess the following certifications and skills: • Must possess minimum experience for obtaining required certifications below as well as past experience in transportation projects with the NJDOT or NJTPA • Must possess and maintain the following certifications: NICET Level III or IV, NJ SAT, and NJ TCP; • Must possess a BS in Engineering or equivalent; • Communicate effectively both orally and written, and must be detail oriented; • Understand the fundamentals of necessary inspection codes and requirements in order to carry out testing; • May also require valid, clean driver’s license and personal vehicle to travel to job sites, as regular daily travel is required. Physical Requirements of this position include: While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is frequently required to remain stationary, use hands to manipulate, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear. The employee is regularly required to move around on the job-site, including ascending or descending on the landscape or on a ladder, and positioning themselves appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, frequently for prolonged periods of time. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. In accordance with the level of visual detail required for this position, close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for this position. The physical demands described above are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job.
