THANKSGIVING GRATITUDE COUNTDOWN - Day #11 I am grateful for Autumn. I love this time of year. I love the fact that Ive gotten to experience the height of the changing of the color of the leaves...last year in NC, and this year in upstate NY. Im so thrilled that I got to stand amidst a leaf fall and be littered with falling heart leaves, glinting in the sun. So thrilled that I got to experience this on a country road lined by miles of hand layered cairn walls, and that we never would have known that just one man did all that if we hadnt stopped to take a picture of a secret garden. What an unexpected boon to actually find the end of the cairn wall... where a coke bottle anchored the plumb bob line... teaching us about patience...and waiting ... and holding the space to build the next layer. Just so much magic in the fall..... the beauty of the let go of the trees as they change form. Grateful for the honest abe honey stand back on those country roads... and even more grateful that the beekeeper came out and talked to us! So delighted by the pumpkins, acorns, pinecones, cinnamon sticks and any chance to break out a woolen sweater. Nothing like the crunchy sound of dry leaves under your feet or a pile of them to jump into.
