THE CRUCIAL POWER OF LOVE. “You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to the traditions of men”(Mark 7:8) ‘Rituals and traditions have always played an important role in society.This is especially true in the church,where congregational life and practices are largely controlled by the church ordinances and liturgy. While it is essential that any group of people must adhere to rules so that everything can run smoothly,it is of the utmost importance that these do not become the dominant factor in any Christian community. The foundation of any denomination must be absolute surrender,devotion,and obedience to God,rising from pure love of Him.Jesus Christ must be central in all things and His will must take precedence over the will of people,regardless of how well meaning the latter may be. To be a channel of the love of God,surrender yourself unconditionally to the guidance of the Holy Spirit.Then you will also be able to identify man-made rules with the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and to implement them in the love of God.In this way,you will be able to serve your community according to God’s will,and in love.’
