THE DIARY OF PINK PEARL: KISS KISS, AMERICA! Home sweet Home! Copyrights by Jes Fuhrmann 2013 All rights reserved “I really think people are going to like your first trilogy, Pearlybird.” Tanzania smiles as we drive slowly by our next dream home. “I think we should make an indoor/outdoor part greenhouse, part aviary out of the pergola outside!” I exclaim, eyeing the grand Tuscany details of the beautiful estate. “We’ll see, Pearlybird!” Honey laughs, “It might be good to actually have your first volume of your first trilogy globally available before we start making renovation plans!” she giggles as I close my eyes, envisioning my perfect palace. “Let’s see now…” I begin, picturing the ideal mansion where parrots, bunnies, tortoises, turtles, fish and even humans could happily co-exist. “I see a large pool in the front with a waterfall… Yes, that’s it a waterfall with lots of pretty flowers on the borders surrounded by grass where Mommy can lounge and soak up some sun and write while Daisy’s young boy does laps in the pool…” I continue, paying careful attention to every positive attribute of our new home. “It’s fenced yard of course, with a tall enclosure built of mortar and rock with an attached garage on the side for Mommy’s renovated, classic beamer and Daddy’s new car!” I snicker as she furrows her brow. “What new car?!” she interjects as I open my eyes with surprise. “Oh, ummm…” I pause, looking down with embarrassment. “Something economical, I guess…” I start, “Maybe one of those BMW Mini Coopers!” I wink, glancing over at the neighbor’s driveway as we continue on our way. “Oh…” she huffs, “That’s not so bad. Okay… Go on…” she beckons as I close my eyes again and struggle to regain focus. “Okay. So, there’s a small gate that leads into the backyard with a lush, green lawn for Maximillionaire and Bettybutterball to run around and a nice pond for Ally, Angler and Gaf!” I hum, swaying to the Christmas carols as Tanzania giggles with delight at my enchanting dream home. “What about inside the house?!” she suggests as I look deep inside my creative mind. “Well…” I start, “There’s a game room in the first room of the home, somewhere that Mommy and Daddy can amuse their human guest with a large billiard table, a big screen tale a vision, a beautiful, mirrored-bar for extra light and speakers built into the ceiling, far away from curious beaks!” I snort as Honey casts a kick glance over a large, corner home. “Sounds inviting enough, Pearlybird. Go on…” she suggests as I carry on with my plans for utopia. “Well, the main home is old but with all new revisions so basically, it’s a classic like you like, Mommy but upgrades like Daddy insists!” I smile, closing my eyes with pride. “Interesting!” she giggles as I carry with my plans for a successful future. “But wait, there’s more!” I snicker as she carefully guides our ride down the exquisitely, decorated homes. “Oh! I’m sorry, Pearlybird. I didn’t mean to interrupt!” she laughs as the weather gets cooler and the dark clouds fill the skies. “Go on!” she encourages as I envision our dream home. “So, what about the kitchen?” she encourages as I debate about the ideal cooking facilities. “Well, there’s nice, new cabinets with a slate floor for easy clean-up and a very large, Sub Zero refrigerator with all the matching amenities!” I excitedly continue as she giggles with delight. “I suppose it has Corian countertops with Kohler faucets and a large, stainless steel, open basin sink as well?” she laughs as I open one eye. “No!” I wink, “They’re solid granite countertops with a full, Italian-tile designer backsplash over the Viking, flat-top, cooking range with Kohler faucets and a large, stainless steel, open basin sink!” I correct as the sun begins to set. “Sounds like you’ve been reading my Architectural Digest magazines over my shoulders, silly bührdd!” she teases as we depart to return to our after Christmas shopping duties.
