THE KING OF FOOLS. Many years ago there was an emperor. In that era, television and other entertainment gadgets were yet to be invented. So this emperor hired certain people called Fools to be in his palace. The fools job was only cracking jokes to entertain the king after each days work to ease his fatigue. One day, the king decided to find out the most foolish person among those fools and crown him the king of fools. This was not an easy task. They eventually nominated a particular fool as the king of fools. He was awarded the staff (a special stick) of fools. Actually, he was not happy about that. This made the king sent him to search for someone who was more foolish than him and bring that person so that the award would be given to that person instead of him. So he went out in searched for a very long time. After many years he returned since days were not waiting for the emperor. The good news is that that young man met Jesus when he went out and received His wisdom. He got the genuine salvation without which no one can see the Kingdom of God. Still holding the staff of fools, he visited the emperor. He saw that the king was weak and about to die. He reported to the king that he found no one more foolish than himself in his long search. Hear some of their conversation: King of fools: Have you prepared for death since youre getting old The emperor: No. What preparation? King of Fools: Oh your highness, you prepare to embark on a journey, go to work and farm. Why didnt you prepare to go to that place of no return-long eternity. Your highness, if you failed to prepare for death, then excuse me to say, you deserve this staff(staff of the king of fools). You deserve to be crowned king of fools. Many today are like that great king. They are excellent when it comes to preparing for earthly things. But when you talk of preparing for death, they say What preparation? They dont care about where they go after death. Please dont be like that. Death is a journey of no return
