To stave off marathon TV sessions, it could transform from a sumptuous lounge to an upright rocker as encouragement to go outside and move around just by detecting your mood! ‘Transform’ prototype from the MIT’s Tangible Media Group envisions more realistically what might happen in the near future when your shapeshifting furniture would be finally able to react and respond according to your current personality, traits and mood. ‘Transform’ does also have the power to influence the emotions of the people around it. Inspired by dynamic interactions found in nature such as wind, water and sand, this amazing furniture is an approach to responsive design in physical space that is both conceptual and plausible, futuristic yet already a reality. What the Tangible Media Lab has tried to prove with ‘Transform’ during the Lexus Design Amazing 2014 exhibition in Milan, is that there are more to just shapeshifting interfaces than just shaking hands over Skype. The future of interface design is that well be able to interface with everything, and the line between what we call a computer and what we dont will eventually go away entirely. Tomorrows computers will be furniture, clothing, and more, and the ways we interact with them - and they with us - will be richer than we can possibly imagine!!
