THE POLITICS OF POWER SHIFT IN TARABA STATE. ---------------------------------------- Democracy is considered to be the best system of rule because it give all citizens equal right to vote and be voted for.the system incoperate people and give them supreme power in decision making on how the government would be run to their interest.The system is base on justice fairness and equality.it upward control,political equality and social norms. However,as the trumphet of politics began to blown some people leaded by sefishness began to agitate for power shift to the south. Taraba state constitutes of three zones,north,cen tral and south.but this categorisation is just for easy admistration and not for unfair advantage or privilage. we recognise the presents of all regions in Taraba state and governent gives them all that is for main for each region.we repect the people of all the regions.those people clamouring for power shift are not doing it,but to protect their own interest.and intending to sweep the public treasury for them and their family with soe few friends. thats make them desperate to have power. in a true deocratic state.people mandate and not zones is consider. therefore,those agitating for power shift are just afraid of political competition.because they have nothing to show rather than engineering conflicts in their area,they are now connering and carving their politcal neach. by relying on records that north and central rule for atlease 7 years,is not enought reasons to relinguish power to the south since all of themm had undergone election process with other candidiates from the southern part of the state.example,obadiah Ando and jolly nyameh,baba adi and jolly nyameh,DDS and umar saad.once you said power most shift to the south,it entails you are trying to remove the mandate bestow on the people to elect the candidate of their choice in any part of the state.and you are tying to turn democracy in to monarchy.you may said in the spirit of justice and fairness power most shift.JUSTICE in politics means abide by the provision of acceptable rules and regulations enshrine in the constitution,while fairness entails given every eligible citizen equal right to be vote and voted for.
