THE POWER OF RTI- Real Life Example. I applied for a new gas connection through Internet, and as per instruction I went to the gas agency with all my documents. As usual, the gas agency staff refused to acknowledge my request and gave me a suggestion to apply offline and take the gas connection along with stove and all accessories. i said I already have the stove and all the related accessories. The guy refused to give the connection without stove. I came back at my home and first thing I did was to file an RTI. Within 3 weeks I got a call from the sales head, Gurgaon . He enquired about the issue and told me the agency owner will give me a call in 10 minutes. Within 10 minutes, I got a call from him and he asked me to submit the documents that day itself, though I was not available for submitting the documents that day. He requested me to submit that day so that he can close my case. I send all the doc through my brother and Now I have new gas connection on my name. Feeling happy to fight for my right, though it was a small fight against this system but definitely it gives me a boost to fight further. Folks, if you also facing any issue regarding, income tax refund, PF, passport, or any other govt related work. Pls file an RTI. I wonder, with RTI we could achieve this, imagine if citizen charter come in force how helpful it would be?
