THE ROLE OF A WIFE Nevertheless, let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband Eph 5:33 Read 2kings4:8 -24 The peace of God must be allowed to reign in the home. It is the responsibility of the husband to love the wife, while the wife submits to her husband. “Eph 5:33 Nevertheless, let everyone of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband”. The basis for accomplishing this task of loving and respecting one another is that both partners should have the fear of God in their heart and treat each other in the light of the word of God. In 2kings 4:8-36, the great Shunamite woman son died but she could not leave the house until she got her husband’s consent and approval to see the man of God. Even in ministry, women should completely submit to their own husband in everything .The Shunamite woman also sought her husband’s consent to build and prepare a place for the man of God to rest whenever he comes around for his ministry. It is wrong for a woman to sneak out of the home getting involved or doing a lot without the consent of her husband. Women should not be busy and at the same time guilty in the sight of God. The home must not be neglected. Prophetess Deborah submitted to her husband, though highly placed, yet was referred to as “Deborah, the wife of Lapidoth” Judges 4:4. No matter your influence in the society, submit to your husband and bear his name.1peter 3:6 Even as Sarah obeyed Abraham calling him lord: whose daughters ye are, as long as ye do well, are not afraid in any amazement. Sarah obeyed and submitted to her husband , go and do likewise. Further Study-Eph 5:25, Col 3:19; I peter 3:6-7. Prayer- Lord, give me a heart of submission; the grace and ability to build my home as a wise woman in Jesus name. Amen.
