TIME TO SACK EDDIE SHEEHY....THIS HAS GONE OUT TO WICKLOW TDs AND WICKLOW COUNCIL....... Dear ....................... We would like to see an investigation into how the funds are been used in the Wicklow Enterprise Board by it Board member. We demand a Garda inquiry into WEP, into how this wasteful expenditure on junket trip by Mr Eddie Sheehy and others was allowed, the people want to know who on the board voted on this, and the reason why it was passed by the board. We are calling for the county manager Eddie Sheehy and others who abused taxpayers money to allow and pay for junket trips to the USA, to be sacked We are asking you to assist us in this serious matter. While Sheehy commands a huge salary of over €142,000 plus expenses per year, he has made national and local newspaper headlines by abusing taxpayers’ money to fund junket trips abroad for himself and his family. As a board member of Wicklow Enterprise Park (WEP), Sheehy and other board members spent obscene amounts of taxpayers’ money to fund foreign trips for themselves and their families. WEP was set up in 1995 as a limited company with charitable status. It pays zero tax and has more than €5 million cash reserves. It has claimed millions in grants from State bodies including Popal, FAS, Wicklow County Enterprise Board and Enterprise Ireland. In response to the growing anger at the Wicklow county manager’s refusal to resign, a protest was held on Saturday 6th June at 1pm 2013 on Bray main street calling for Eddie Sheehy to be removed. The people who signed the petition feel that the man seems to have no ethics and has brought shame on the county of Wicklow, Eddie SHeehy does not appear to want to do the honorable thing by stepping down from his position. So we feel that he should be forced to go. People throughout the county of Wicklow, and beyond, are outraged at what this man has done on many levels and on foot of this, we have a petition signed. by the people calling for him to be sack. Eddie Sheey is in a position that he should not have used to make financial gains, we feel he has abused this position. The people are outraged and are saying loud and clear that Eddie Sheehy has to go, and needs to be removed from his position as a matter of priority. Also following a controversial issues outlined in both national and local media, Wicklow county manager, Eddie Sheehy, conduct was disgraceful, he allowed the court case to play out at huge expense to the taxpayer before pleading guilty. Wicklow County Council recently pleaded guilty to three charges of serious health and safety issues relating to the tragic deaths of two Bray firemen six years ago. Eddie Sheehy caused outrage with his comments following the trial. He said that while the Council accepted that there were breaches of the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act, they felt that these breaches did not lead to the deaths of the men. John Kidd , head of the fire-fighters union, IFESA, branded Sheehy’s comments “a disgrace” and called for his resignation. Look forward to your response and action on this request.
