TO ALL WOMEN Thoughts and meditation: CELEBRATING YOUR UNIQUE SELF! The fact that you are a minister or pastors wife may not necessarily mean you have to be in charge of the womens ministry... your anointing and grace maybe for the childrens ministry or even the couples fellowship and God may have raised another woman whom he has graced for that role... lets not be overly religious that once the husband is a pastor then automatically the wife MUST be a pastress and then we put pressure on them or they put pressure on themselves to do what they naturally do not have the calling for... Our strength lies in the ability to identify and acknowledge other gifting around us. as ministers we should not be threatened by another person who seem to excel in a talent we lack.. most especially among women.. everyone has something to offer and when we come to that place of knowing that God has so structured the body in such a way that every part is relevant and NEEDED there will be less display of insecurity and excessive display of power.. remember the brother called Ananias who the Lord appeared to and told to go look for Paul (then Saul) and pray for him...(acts 9v10) even though that was the last time we heard of him and he did not do anything significant like Paul ,yet Paul owes his conversion process to him.. and in a way we (new testament Christians) owe our conversion to him.. Paul in Gal 2v8 that it is the same God who is working effectively in the ministry of peter to the Jews that is working effectively in his ministry to the gentiles.. in other words, we may not always agree on the same approach or methodology but i choose to respect the fact that there are divers administration of gifts and talents but its the same Lord... !! i choose to acknowledge that its the same God who works in us all. No body has it all.. we see from the parable of the talent that God did not give all to one person, but then everyone received what he got according to their several abilities... and the earlier we begin to respect that the better.. but the consolation is that the least person still had something even though it was one.. A lady is anointed with wisdom in the area of counseling based on experience and study and because i am a young pastors wife i feel i should do the counseling by virtue of position..?? then i have abused the grace of God... another lady is gifted in the skill of oratory and am a little timid when it comes to facing an audience but because my husband is the associate pastor i feel i ought to always take the lead at oratory events ?? says who? by what standard? i am the choir director by virtue of position yet i know there is young lady who is an anointed psalmist ,so rather than encourage that talent i ostracize her and kill every self confidence in her.. simply because i get to hold the microphone always! So she is more out going and am not does that make her better than i am? she leads a crowd of thousands of women and all i get to lead is my household, does that mean i have failed God.. ok so she is married to a wealthy and responsible man and i am married to a man who is responsible and hardworking and has chosen to take life step by step.. does that make me unfortunate? As women we need to come to that place where we are secured in who we are and trade with what God has given us and not be envious of another soo much so that it builds resentment and bitterness... these kind of emotions will only drain you out and you will end up like the servant who had only one talent thought it was useless and ignored it. the bible says even that one he had was taken from him and given t the one who had much more! at the end of the day such a person becomes alone and lonely! This is not only applicable in ministry, but even as wives and mothers.. we need to kill that spirit of competition... comparing ourselves with others.. its an abuse on the grace of God and a raw display of ingratitude... we all have something deposited in us by God to offer to our generation.. we should trust the Spirit of God in us to show us how to harness the gifting God has surrounded us with and together bring out the best in us and cause a change! lets celebrate one another in love!
