Nervous and trembled during handling…”-that’s how 1 year old Bobby reacted during his behavioral eval. Brought to sit in a tiny cage at Brooklyn ACC by owners who had him less than a month and couldn’t quite figure out how to housebreak him, little Bobby is just plain scared to death by the noise around him, by all those strangers who walk past his cage, by the dogs barking, and by sitting in that cage 24 x 7. By now, Bobby is no doubt convinced he’s never ever getting out of that crate. ACC proposes to take him out one more time to take him to that room from which no dogs ever return—he’s on tomorrow’s euthanasia list. Tonight, Bobby needs that one person out there who has room in their heart and their home for a tiny, scared sweetie who just wants somebody to make it all right. Housebreaking’s an issue—but this is a baby and it takes time and consistency and patience and then Bobby will be so happy that he’s finally doing things “right”. If you can handle all the doggie kisses and the smiles a bouncing happy little prince of a Chi will bring to you, step up to foster or adopt Bobby. But do it right now. At noon tomorrow, Bobby will still be trembling, will still be terrified but that won’t stop ACC from making him gone forever.
