TODAY IN THE WORD After John Quincy Adams, the sixth president of the United States, suffered a stroke in 1846, a friend asked him about his health. Adams replied, “I inhabit a weak, frail, decayed tenement; battered by the winds and broken in upon by the storms, and from all I can learn, the landlord does not intend to repair.” Adams was only half-right. Although the believer’s body may be a tenement that God does not intend to repair, it is a dwelling place that He plans to rebuild. At the resurrection the believer will receive an entirely reconstructed body.
