TONY KELLY TAKEN HIS BLACK BELT (about age 10) now everyone who knows about how we do thing in are grading will know we have multi attack situation as part of the grading, this story is from about 20 years ago. Its took place in my old Centre of excellence dojo. Tony had done all the required skills and was now facing about four teenager ( 13 to 16 ) now every situation even so it may look over the top has a built in safety in that i pick fighter that will push the black belt candid but at the same time as long as he works hard he can survive You start of fighting one then i add another as the fight continues, we reach the maximum of four fighters and Tony is on the move not allowing them to track him never allowing anyone to flank him then hitting the first person who gets in his line of fire great tactics. This goes on for about two minutes then all of a sudden they get him in a corner and rush him he is fighting and giving as good as he gets then all of a sudden he goes down they all jump on him ( i always allow a bit of time on the ground) then i call break they all back of Tony gets up and his left arm from the elbow down is facing the other way before i get a chance to call stop he grabs His broken arm and shove it into his belt and charges then with his good arm , stop him and halt the fight but he wants to carry on ( he is very calm ) so i talk to his parents and they say let him carry on “ as its his black belt grading and he would not be able to stop in the streets” The is about 30 second left so they restart and he starts to kick a lot more in fact he TKOs two of them in the 30 seconds he has left. Once it was over we took him to hospital and they sorted him out ...he passed his grade Some will say this was to much but i say this is preparation for the real world...his courage has never let him down to this day ...Warrior ALFIE LEWIS
