TWEEQiM News:) - its rare that we get to share a good portion of the design work we do, as in some cases, the projects are under wraps for at least a year out...and sometimes they stay strictly internal with the client. This year, we worked extensively with Texas A&M University and Populous (populous/) in creating wall art for the barbershop that is part of the Aggies (football) new high end locker room facilities (part of a massive undertaking by Populous in revisioning/building the entire stadium at Kyle Field). Yesterday, they opened the doors for the first time for the players and press to share with them their new stomping grounds, and its getting a lot of great coverage....with a lot of nice props going to our part of the project (coverage by ESPN, CNN, USAtoday, the NFL, just to name a few). The process in creating the art was a long involved one, with going out to campus for a week, getting to know the culture, meet players and staff, tour the facility while it was still in the raw, experience the Texas A&M lifestyle off campus, and even have meetings in the press box of the stadium while sky high cranes worked away all around us, rebuilding the stadium. A rare, and robust opportunity indeed. The research continued back here in the studio, working with team members and staff to help put together a visual story about THEM, and were they come from.....a story that can stay on the walls for generations to come, and evoke pride. Attached is a video that was released yesterday shortly after some of the first players were given their first tour. Unfortunately, its impossible to truly capture the insane print job of the art on film, as its printed in metallics of different grades, and grabs and reflects like nicely.....so on film it looks pretty flat compared to the real deal.....but the space is for the team, and they are the only ones who are gonna see it regularly, and all reports we are getting, is that they are freaked HUGE thanx to Texas A&M, to our new friends at Populous...it was a total pleasure!
