Tagging released convicts is an invasion of privacy - Association - TopicsExpress

Tagging released convicts is an invasion of privacy - Association for the Promotion of Human Rights (Pro¬ham) chairman Tan Sri Simon Sipaun. Busybody groups are trying to make things complicated again. We have had enough of bad elements running wildly and creating chaos in the country. Fear and anxiety is gripping the entire nation… it is causing a lot of stress! What violation are they talking about? The polis is targeting hardcore criminals, not setting about tagging every Tom, Dick & Harry… they just don’t have the resources! The guys who are talking rubbish should bear in mind that whatever misery and disaster suffered by others could happen to them, their immediate family, relatives and friends. Perhaps they would be singing a very different tune then! I’ve seen movies where court judges were forced to release criminals back into the streets due to a lack of evidence only to turn vigilante to execute them later. Let the polis do their job and talk about fine tuning and correcting procedures later. Right now, we just want some peace of mind, safety and stability. Is that too much to ask for?
