Take down and removal of the old Utility Pole went quickly as - TopicsExpress

Take down and removal of the old Utility Pole went quickly as planned. The problems occurred when boring the old hole, to accommodate the new replacement, they encountered solid rock at 5.5 ft (aiming for 6.0 fit) with their auger and then the hole filled up with ground water, not because of the rain. Once the new fiberglass replacement pole was installed, it listed off center. They got it re-centered, but now the power line is sagging too low. Has to be 13 off of the ground surface for safety reasons. We have decomposing granite soil and when it is wet, it will turn to a slurry, but once dried out, it hardens like concrete. Their plans are to return mid next week to remove the slack in the power line to get it to the 13 foot requirement. By then the ground will be stable.
