Taking a moment to reflect after my latest conference call on what my activism has metastasized into: Im on the boards of GLAAD (national), Equality Illinois (state/social justice), You Can Play (national sports), ONE Northside (Chicago/social justice), advisory board of the Trans Life Center, and the coordinating committee of the LGBT Sports Coalition. And then Im privileged to help with projects like the Trans 100, or getting to help out where I can talking with the reliably awesome people at Lambda Legal and the Victory Fund. My conclusion? Life is too short. But the time, the moment, the message is now. Do it now, make it happen now, achieve it now. Not alone, but working with the huge number of people, gay or straight, trans or not, on teams like these and a hundred others. We can, have and will make the world better. Now.
