Tampons and Tourniqets in Bangkok Reports from the fighting at - TopicsExpress

Tampons and Tourniqets in Bangkok Reports from the fighting at the University last night are still unclear. Some of the reports make it sound like wounded students were trapped without help for an extended time. I do not know if this is true. What we do know is that it does not matter if a hospital is nearby if you cannot get to it. Minutes make a Gigantic difference on who lives and who dies after a gunshot. Many gunshots that are easily survivable end with fatalities because the victim bleeds out, when people could have easily saved his or her life. Everyone at the protests should carry a tourniqet (go buy one), and some tampons and bandages, and know how to use them to stop bleeding. It could be very useful and lifesaving for a Thai concerned citizen to find a trauma surgeon, or experienced Army medic, to make a short video in Thai language, to post on YouTube and link to Facebook. The doctor or medic can demonstrate how to use tourniqets, tampons, and pressure bandages. Then let social media work its magic. Bullets will fly, people will die. This is a good time to study, and it does not take more than an hour to learn some important techniques.
