.Thai woman released from Adiala Jail ISLAMABAD--A 35-year-old Thai woman Mrs. Oraphan Kanma, was released from Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi on bail from the Court of Ch. M. Mumtaz Hussain, Judge Special Court Customs, Taxation & Anti-Smuggling here on Wednesday. A petition for after arrest bail was jointly filed by Advocates Asghar Ali Mumbarak, Miss Tahira Bano Mubarak, Miss Uzma Mubarak of Shaheed Mazhar Ali Mubarak Law Associates on behalf of Thai national Mrs. Oraphan Kanma. Mrs. Oraphan Kanma was arrested on 7th October 2014 while going to Bangkok through flight Np.TK-350, from Benazir Bhutto international airport Islamabad on charges of smuggling foreign currency.Mr. Loechai Jantarasombat Minister Counsellor Deputy Head of Mission the Royal Thai Embassy to Pakistan stated that Mrs. Oraphan Kanma is a one and only prisoner in Pakistan. As per contents of FIR, the smuggling of foreign currency was happened through flight Np.TK-350 by Thai woman Mrs. Oraphan Kanma, upon investigation when the Thai woman was searched by the lady police officer Mrs,Uzma Nafees then 26362 US Dollars, 100UK Pounds, 20 Euro, 6480 Thai Bhat were recovered from the possession of Thai woman Mrs. Oraphan Kanma. Hence the case /FIR Number 39/2014 under the section 178, 157, 70, 8(1), 156 CUSTOM ACT 1969 & SECTION 8 OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE REGULATORY ACT 1947 REGISTERED AT P.S. I & P MODEL CUSTOMS COLLECTORATE, ISLAMABAD was registered against the Thai woman. Advocates Asghar Ali MUBARAK,Miss Tahira Bano Mubarak,Miss Uzma Mubarak argued that Thai woman with malafide intention and ulterior motives involved in the case she is quite innocent and he has no concern whatsoever with the commission of alleged offences, Advocates further argued that the petitioner has falsely been implicated in the case and actually the petitioner did not commit any offence whatsoever. The case against the petitioner is a result of malice and malafide and ulterior motives.Thai woman Mrs. Oraphan Kanma is working with world famous hotel chain Marriot International Islamabad as Massuese in Health Club Department since 8th September 2010.The whole currency recovered from the petitioner is her earning and not an illegal currency advocates explained in their arguments. The case of the petitioner is of further inquiry into the guilt of the Thai woman Mrs. Oraphan Kanma .advocate Asghar Ali Mubarak added .He stated that the offences mentioned in the FIR do not attract to the Thai woman Mrs. Oraphan Kanma’s case, he stated.Advocate Asghar Ali Mubarak further stated that the Thai woman is behind the bars since on7th October 2014 her arrest and her further detention in jail would serve no useful purpose in any manner. The petitioner is not a previous convict. In the said circumstances of the instant case, the Thai woman is entitled for the concession of bail. The Thai woman is belongs to a respectable Thai family, previously non-convict and ready to furnish the bail bonds to the satisfaction of this Honorable Court. On other hand the state counsel Ameen Farooz Advocate has opposed the bail petition of Thai women .After the arguments heard and the record perused the court accepted the bail petition subjected to submission of bonds in sum of Rs.500000.
