Thank goodness no-one was seriously hurt in tonights massive Brisbane storm. Im stuck in Canberra hoping my Bardon home is intact when I eventually get there tonight! My electorate office hasnt fared so well, with windows in my office all broken and all the papers in my desk sodden :-(. Thanks to my Brisbane staff Dom and Brad for starting the clean up job! My thoughts are with all whove had damage. Thanks to QldSES and Energex and all those working (and all volunteering!) to help with response, clean-up and power restoration. SES are on 132 500 but facing long delays while they work hard to help! This is why I fight for climate action. Extreme weather events will be more frequent and more severe and I cant bear the thought that we are choosing that future.
