Thank you Candace Joyce for the nomination for the #ALSChallenge. Although a great cause and it definitely demonstrates the power of social media and how much we can have an impact if we all pull together, I wont be donating to ALS, nor will I be pouring ice cold water on my head. Although, I really do enjoy all the hilarious videos people have been putting up. I posted an article recently about the ALS Challenge and I think it has some very insightful points. As terrible as ALS is, personally I think there are more pressing issues. Poverty and homelessness being one of them, as the Toronto Star reports : thestar/opinion/editorials/2014/08/27/toronto_must_stop_rise_in_child_poverty_editorial.html. «There are almost 149,000 children in Toronto whose families are living on less than half the median household income (after taxes). They don’t need more statistics. They need action». I did do a chartiable deed a few months ago. I donated 6 inches of my hair to 360-hair/ for wigs for cancer patients. As some of you may know this is something that hits close to home for me. Instead of nominating a few people, I encourage everyone to give what they can to causes that are important to them. Even something as simple as an act of kindness can go a long way. Peace and Love xo
