Thank you all SO much for your lovely birthday wishes, texts, tweets, calls and cards for Rio from around the world! We are so humbled by the overwhelming number of Likes and well wishes from friends, family, fans and followers of the Birthday Boy, who was absolutely overawed when we read them all out to him! What has been so touching is the kindness of strangers - a group of @BladeBoyRios twitter followers who have called themselves #TeamRio have been working hard over the last 48 hours to spread the word around the world (weve received tweets from Australia, Sweden, and Brazil to name but a few countries!) about our #RunRioRun fundraising campaign to provide Rios future lightweight prosthetic legs/blades, asking their followers (and some very well known celebrities!) to follow Rio (he wants to get 1,000 followers) and to donate through his website: run-rio-run.co.uk or justgiving/RUN-RIO-RUN. So weve had a flurry of new followers and are now up to 865 and a few kind donations - every little helps! Rio had a great day with his beloved grandparents JJ & Papa, Aunty Alex, cousins Ben, Sarena, Ashton and Trent (besties/brothers-from-another-mother!) - we missed you Aunty Laura, Carmella, David and Reece! The Birthday Boy enjoyed a celebratory lunch complete with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Cake(!) and then a fun family swim - now hes counting down to his Wheelie Car Party on Sunday!
