Thanks. I would like to thank the people of Richmond for their support once again. Congratulations to Alexa Loo and Carol Day upon your election to Richmond Council and to all of the returning incumbent councillors. The next four years will be crucial to building a sound foundation for Richmonds future and for the future of our region in a rapidly changing world. I look forward to getting the Farm School underway on the Garden City Lands so we can start educating and planning for a food secure future. I look forward to re-developing the Steveston Harbour, building sea berms and raising dykes to improve our climate safety, provide recreational tourism, habitat, boat moorage and jobs. I look forward to increasing our affordable housing, and community facilities programmes as we develop our downtown and moving into requirements for energy alternatives, more recycling and composting and less plastics and other wastes that would otherwise be burned or dumped. I hope we can make some sense of our disfunctional public transit system to provide better service and get more cars off the road. I hope we can influence the Port to keep heavy industrial shipping of fossil fuels out of the Fraser River Estuary and indeed slow the increase of such exports for the good of the planet. During this term we will finally have to admit that the climate is changing and develop plans to adapt to whatever those changes will bring. This will be a turning point for us all and I welcome your support and participation. Harold
