Thanks Rachel Coopland for the nomination to list 7 things you may not know about me. Mmmmmm which ones to list! 1) When I was 4 yrs old I put a peg on our cats tail !! 40 yrs later I can still remember the good hiding my mum gave me and being shut in the dog kennel (minus the dog) for punishment. 2) When I was about 7yrs old I helped my mum deliver the first of many litters of puppies born at our house. She taught me how to scrub up and get puppies breathing once they had been born. Very special memories. 3) At about 10yrs old I wanted to know why my dad enjoyed smoking. So when he left a lit fag in the ash tray and left the room I had a huge drag on it. Dont remember much about the moments after, other than it was hard to breathe, focus and hold back the vomit - put me off for life ! 4) At secondary school our cross country course took us right by my best friends house. Every week we would lag behind and then bunk off to her place. After downing some quick cook noodles we would look out for them on the return trip and join back on the end. Did this every week and didnt get caught! 5) I have had 3 sets of facial stitches and a fractured skull (not all at the same time). 6) I can be transported back to even a very young time in my life by familiar sights and smells. Even though I struggle to remember what I did the day before. 7) As a young teenager I belonged to Basingstoke swimming club when the old Westfield Lido was still standing. Not a lot of swimming would get done. We would take our roller skates and hold onto the back of peoples cars as they drove up and down the steep hill. No idea how we never ended up in A & E or worse. Strangely that was with the same best friend - you know who you are !! I nominate Marianne Bastin and Leanne Phelps xx
