Thanks for sharing this, Allyssa. I purchased a lap desk, one with a soft padding underneath a hard shell, and then clipped a small wire oven rack over the top of the shell, which allows for air circulation between the laptop and the shell. I also glued a small mouse pad to the wire rack, in strips, so that air can still circulate. The mouse pad helps reduce slipping. Dan and I both use only laptops now, he at his desk, me on my lap. Even on my lap, on a chair or couch, the laptop can get very hot if there is not a way for air to circulate. Thus, my contraption. Works very well. Peace, Jackie
