Thanks for the many pms about Faither, asking for him, and offering welcome and needed words of kindness and comfort to all our family. Peter. Catherine, and I all visited faither yesterday - Jean and Mum were there with me on Christmas Day. Others of his closest friends are going today. He is very tired, and easily exhausted, so we are trying to ensure he sees everybody he loves, but is not worn out by love! He is very weak, and the infection has not been shifted by the antibiotic. It has proved impossible to feed him by tube, and the efforts to do so have caused trauma and bleeding, which is painful. When conscious, he is in pain, but can still smile, and enjoy being told about what is happening beyond Ward 43. Peter reminisced about his childhood, the long walks. The choice between chips on the way home, or a bus part of the way. I told him about mum, and our having had a curry, and Jeans familiarity with the farm in Angus on which my neighbour was born. He remains interested in world politics, and closer to home was very sad about the tragedy of George Square. Nobody knows what is causing the continued diversion of food and drink into his lungs, and Christmas is a dreadful time to be a patient in need of advanced diagnosis and treatment. Sorry, I cant post like this every day, or respond to the pms and emails on a daily basis. But I will post any significant news as and when I have it. Again, many thanks for the concern, prayers, love, and good wishes.
