Thanks for the post Leon Crane Bear. Reminds me of my U of C Sociology Prof in the early 80s depicting the Blackfoot Indians as Matrilineal micro & macro Bands all groyped together w the Athabascan Tribe. I felt intimidated but spoke up... I was raised Traditionally on my Grandfathers Ranch & Im Siksika not a macro/micro band. For all I know my Children will be labelled as elastic bands. Lol I said this in anger but he did give me a B on my final Essay. Now as a Grandfather & Sr Manager for Siksika Land Claims for 26 yrs I understand that Siksikaitsitapiiwasiin is a life long learning process based on Oral History which is given as a Sacred Trust to Knowledge Holders. This has been the Secret to Success for 3 Successful Settlements. In fact, the Siksika Land Claims team have the honor to undertake preliminary Traditional protocol over the next 2 days togTher Slders Oral history for 2 more Claims; 1 presently under negotiation & the other in litigation. It has been my experience that 1 Siksika word would necessitate a Paragraph of English terms to properly explain the context or application..whether it be macro or micro. Kitaitamatsinoo Napi
