Thanksgiving weekend is just about to end. Yesterday I had marvelous time at my cousins house. My aunt had baked delicious turkey and we had great time chatting and eating. Day before yesterday, our childrens best friends came to visit us and on Thursday we were with our holmdel friends. Today a brother is painting our childrens rooms. He is originally from Sudan but lives in Elizabeth town in New Jersey. Poverty is written all over him. When he came, his clothes were worn out and stained with paint and he didnt bring any extra clothing for change. But what I noticed in last two hours is that no moment passes by, when he is not doing dhikr and Shukr. With every stroke of brush, he is remembering Allah. Thanksgiving weekend is about to end now and I am wondering how many times did I thank Allah for all the blessings in my life which this brother doesnt even have. All I was doing was complain and talk about I, me, and mine. Alhumdulillah for my house, caring husband, loving children and absolutely awesome cousins, Mamoon, and mamee from NY and here in NJ. Alhumdulillah for all the food, health, and blessings of life.
