The 16 year schoolgirl, who had been stabbed multiple times in her classroom by a college student breathed her last at the North Bengal and Medical College in #Siliguri. According to hospital sources, the girl had suffered abnormal blood loss and severe injury in her abdomen. “A portion of her pancreas was totally severed. She was operated on twice and a medical board was constituted to monitor her treatment. There were plans to shift the girl to Calcutta for treatment but it could not be done because of her deteriorating condition. She had been in the ICU since admission and breathed her last today,” said an NBMCH source. Jitendra Sha, a first-year under-graduate student of Dhupguri College, who had stabbed himself after attacking the girl, is also under treatment at the NBMCH. Jitendra’s condition is critical as one of his kidneys has been punctured.
