The 6th Circuit has embraced technology and rejected the idea that attendance is normally an essential element of most jobs. Citing technology, the court said even jobs that require problem solving with co-workers can be accommodated by allowing for telecommuting. In this case, the Ford employees irritable bowel syndrome would sometimes prevent her from getting to work, or would cause her to soil herself upon standing, requiring her to work from home up to 4 days a week, which the court said was not unreasonable. www1.eeoc.gov/eeoc/newsroom/release/4-23-14a.cfm
