The Airtel Nigeria Prepaid Roaming service gives subscribers the ability to automatically make and receive voice calls and SMS when they go outside the Airtel Nigeria network to a GSM network anywhere in the world that offers prepaid roaming via CAMEL Phase 2 & 3. The Prepaid Roaming service offers the following features to Airtel customers: 1) Seamless network service between Airtel Nigeria and Prepaid roaming partner networks. 2) Ability to send and receive calls and SMS using the Airtel Nigeria SIM on the roaming partner network. This service is available to all Airtel Nigeria Prepaid customers. No special provisioning is required as all subscribers are provisioned by default. Airtel Nigeria Prepaid customers travelling to other countries with prepaid roaming partner agreements only have to switch on their phones to enjoy the service. Airtel customers on the Prepaid Roaming service can recharge airtime using their Airtel Nigeria recharge vouchers before they travel or whilst roaming. When using the Airtel Nigeria recharge voucher, please follow the instructions on the back of the Airtel Nigeria recharge voucher and dial the USSD string applicable, followed by the hidden PIN. E.g, dial *126*xxxx xxxx xxxx# Prepaid Roaming customers simply dial the number for the Airtel Nigerias account balance checker. E.g, dial *123# When abroad, you can choose one of our partner operators automatically or manually. To activate manually, go to SETTINGS on your handset, and click on PHONE SETTINGS, where you will see a selection of networks. Click on your roaming partner network and you are ready to roam. 1) To call an Airtel or another local mobile number, enter the country code for Nigeria +234, followed by the mobile number in local format without the leading 0. E.g. +234 733 101 120. 2) To call a landline number, enter the country code for Nigeria +234, followed by the area code e.g. 020 (Nairobi area code), followed by the landline number.
