The Australian Population and Migration Research Centre is excited to be part of a new era in research on ageing in Australia. After more than two years of hard work and collaboration a consortium of 11 organisations across Australia, including the APMRC, have secured the bid to be the International Longevity Centre – Australia. ILC-A will join a global alliance of centres from around the world including the United Kingdom, United States of America, Japan, France, Singapore, Brazil, and South Africa. The aim of the ILC-A is to support a better experience of ageing at a societal level, including better services, better community structures and better government policies. The ILC-A consortium represents a range of interests including ageing peak bodies, aged care providers, academics, researcher and policy advisors. This gives the group great advantage in driving evidence based change.
