The Australian Red Cross released the finding yesterday that asylum seekers on bridging visas with no working rights are the most marginalised and disadvantaged in our communities. Many are single mothers. I want to say a very big thankyou to those parents from Ascot and mums from work who have donated clothes and toys as they have been released from detention over the last few weeks. Every last sock and teddy bear has found a home and I am asked constantly by refugees to pass on their gratitude to you. BIG thankyou to all. Especially for the winter clothes and blankets. Lou.
