The Bishops Letter ; 1 Pet.2;19-21 For this is thankworthy,if a man for conscience toward God endure grief,suffering wrongfully.For what glory is it,if, when ye be buffeted for your faults,ye take it patiently ? but if when ye do well,and suffer for it,ye take it patiently,this is acceptable with God.For even hereunto were ye called;because Christ also suffered for us,leaving us an example,that ye should follow his steps.The Church can make do without many things and offices,a deacon,a bishop,an ursher,a choir director,etc. this is not to belittle anyone,For ye are the body of Christ and members in particular,All are Needed,and All are Important,but without a Pastor,a Shepherd,No Church can successfully survive for long.Someone who is Physically There to Shepherd,Oversee,Help,Encourage,Correct,Counsel and any number of other things,the Pastor plays a Major Role in the Kingdom of God and Church body.Many times right here we fail to Include his Greatest Asset,his Wife,Co-Pastor,Co-laborer,in many Churches she may be looked upon as just frill,decoration,but in Christ they are a Team. For lack of a better word(on my part) no disrespect intended,I like to refer to them as the Mules of the Ministry,no pun intended,it is just the nature of the office that seems to bestow upon them this mantle,often Unappreciated,Overlooked,Misunderstood,Judged and the Like,yet they continue on in the Name of the Lord,feeling used and taken for granted.No one understands the Trials of a Pastor,but another Pastor and of course the PKs ,Preachers Kids,expected to ministers themselves,but many times they are not , they are simply children whose parents happen to be Ministers,sadly they are often put under a microscope,my misguided members and the world,always expected to be angels,but rarely seen as just soldiers drafted into an army not of their choosing,To this Special group of people I would simply like to say Thank You ! And Please Stay on the Battlefield for Our Lord ! Heb.6:10 For God is not Unrighteous to forget your Work and Labour of Love,which ye have shewed toward his name,in that ye have ministered to the saints,and do minister. Be Blessed
