The British Virgin Islands are also Tsunami Ready. This recognition is part of a UNESCO and US NWS pilot project. As other TsunamiReady jurisdictions, the BVI had to meet all the requirements for 24/7 tsunami warning focal point, EOC activation, evacuation mapping and signage, response planning and education and outreach initiatives. Congratulations for this important achievement making it the second non US jurisdiction in the Caribbean/Atlantic meeting the rigorous recognition requirements.
