The Chief Minister Harish Rawat has announced to give Rs 10 lakh to the Band Vikas Mela to construct their cultural stage. Besides this he announced Nagar Panchayat recognition for Peepalkoti, construction of community health center in Peepalkoti, sub division for PWD and appointment of yoga trainers at the rate of one teacher every 20 students. He said that Joshimath will be developed as an off season vegetables hub. He also gave assurance to farmers to build protection wall against wild animals. The CM while addressing the gathering at the fair said that fairs are an identity of our culture. They inspire us to work as a team and also give us a glimpse of our culture. He said that efforts are being made to get development till mountains. He in his address to women said that women should form groups and increase production of milk, fruits and vegetables. Its sale will be the responsibility of the government. The CM added that growers of fodder trees will be given encouragement money of Rs 300. He also spoke about the importance of water conservation. He on the occasion also reviewed the stalls of several departments. A cultural program was also organised on the occasion. A souvenir on ‘Band ek Virasat’ was also released by the CM. Present on the occasion were MLA Rajendra Singh Bhandari, MLA Kapkot Lalit Farswan, Chief Development Officer Sanjay Kumar and SP Sunil Kumar Meena among others.
