The Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) comprises of three hill districts in the southern region of Bangladesh. The indigenous people of the region namely Chakma, Marma, Tripura, Tanchangya, Chak, Pankho, Mru, Murung, Bawm, Lushai, Khyang, Khumi are collectively known as Jumma. The CHT ACCORD between the Government of Bangladesh and Parbattya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samiti(PCJSS) was signed on 2 December 1997. However, the genocide being committed in the Chittagong Hill Tracts against the indigenous people, the Chakma ,Marma , Tripura and others indigenous people who are mainly Buddhists, Hindus, Christians continues. The perpetrators of this genocide are the Bangladeshi military and the Bengali Muslim settlers, who together have burned down a large number of Buddhist and Hindu temples, killed many Jummas and carried out a policy of gang-rape against the indigenous people. There are also accusations of Jummas being forced to convert to Islam and to fulfill the purpose many of the Jumma children have already been abducted.
