The College of Physicians and Surgeons reported last month that a quarter of accredited general surgeons and orthopedic surgeons, and four in 10 ophthalmologists, said they were unable to find a job placement after graduation. Meanwhile, half of Canadians wait three months or more for hip replacement, more than 100 days or more for knee replacements, and 50 days or more for cataract surgery.
