The Comprehensive School Assistance Program (CSAP) works with state, regional, and local education agencies to develop and support a culture for learning where all students acquire 21st century learning skills that prepare them for college and career. CSAP provides research and evidence-based assistance that builds the capacity of and transforms low-performing schools and districts into highly effective learning organizations. We work with education leaders, teachers, and community stakeholders to align the organizational structures and systems within a school or district to support the delivery of effective instruction. In addition, we provide technical assistance, coaching, and professional development in the area of family engagement via the APTT Model. APTT is an intentional, systematic means of increasing student academic achievement by improving the quality and quantity of parent-teacher communication and interaction. Teachers coach parents to become engaged, knowledgeable members of the academic team in three classroom APTT meetings and one in-depth individual conference each year. APTT provides teachers and families a time and place to share student performance data and set achievable and measurable, student-centered academic goals.
