The County of Kauai wrote: Fire officials requested the assistance of the Kaua‘i Bus to transport seven individuals to Wilcox Hospital. It is reported that two individuals also checked themselves in to Wilcox Emergency Room for medical treatment. No critical injuries have yet been reported. KFD’s HAZMAT crew and a representative of the state Department of Health continue to investigate the cause of the odor. WalMart remains closed at this time. As a safety precaution, the public is asked to avoid the area until further notice.
