The Critical Truth Pakistan is celebrating 66th years of Independence. The nation was created to enable its citizen to live in freedom, harmony with justice and equality. Today the country is in a sad state of affairs, where corruption, bribery and nepotism are wide spread. Every institution from Police to land registry and from municipals councils to utility services are full of corrupt officials and they openly demand bribery without any shame or an embarrassment. No one is willing to carry out and honest day’s work for an honest day’s money. I find incredibly difficult to understand that people have pride for not doing any work and getting paid. Pakistan is probably the only country where servants employ servants and beggars carry mobile phones. In country’s 66 years history none of the ruling governments has been able to achieve successes on the grass route levels. Democratic values are completely misunderstood; transparency and accountability are not actively encouraged or promoted! The country infrastructure, education and health are failing but the population increase is well out of control. Where and how our aspirations and dreams have become nightmares.
