The Department of Chamorro Affairs is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying photos that may be useful for the exhibition and research purposes at the Guam and Chamorro Educational Facility (GCEF). Photographs, especially ones that have not been shared or that tell a unique story, are solicited for exhibit and educational/research purposes. Photographs will be reviewed and selected by the Department of Chamorro Affairs. Photographs, if selected, will be a donation to the GCEF. Scanned copies of the donated photographs will be provided to the donor, and credit of the donor will be acknowledged at the GCEF. DCA will provide a scanned copy of the selected photograph to the donor. The Department of Chamorro Affairs will return photographs that are not selected for exhibition at the GCEF. However, the public’s efforts will be appreciated. Interested persons may call 475-6727 or 475-4230 with Ms. Bertha Galimba; or email at [email protected]. Ms. Galimba will ask a set of questions to find out aspects of the photos prior to setting up an appointment. By appointment, photographs may be delivered to the Guam Museum Repository at the DNA Building. Parking will be allowed at the Guam Public Library. If original photographs cannot be delivered, digital samples can be emailed to [email protected] Donors will be requested to fill out a “Photo Submission Release Form” when meeting with Ms. Galimba. An acknowledged receipt will be issued for each submission and scanned copies provided. Deadline to submit photographs is 3pm, Friday, August 28. Another cycle of photo requests will be forthcoming.
