The Donskoy is now in the Advanced New Breed with TICA as of May 2015. The breed was recognized 10 years ago with TICA and this advancement is a personal goal I had set when I began showing the cat. I cannot take credit alone for this achievement, it was a team effort and I would like to take the time to acknowledge those that helped to make this happen today at the semi annual TICA Board meeting. First and foremost I would like to thank Judge Donna Madison who with the simple words “it’s time” planted the seed for the advancement of the breed. With her work ,help and guidance she took us from a wish to fruition.Thank you to Lilya Kovalenko and Marina Shekoldina for their continued support, knowledge of breed standard ,material for the powerpoint presentation, and endless revisions to accurately present the Donskoy to the Board of Directors. Thank you to Aimee Henson for all the work you did gathering statistics from other cat federations to present growth potential. Becky Brown for your 6 hour drive to Harlingen Texas to bring Don Ramzes Evdokim to present and for your support and knowledge as a long time member of TICA. A special thanks to my friend Valerie Fuchs who spent endless hours perfecting the powerpoint presentation.A thank you to her artist friend Joanna Lapati, who on a moments notice dropped everything to compete a cartoon drawing for the presentation.Thank you to all the breeders who joined TICA the last two years and registered their cats to increase our numbers and commit to showing in TICA; Timea Gallas, Marina Sekoldina, Charlene Mitchell ,Janis Ouelette, Aimee Henson, Elena Malik, Jackie and Rick Hawn.Thank you to Northeast Regional Director and Board member Francine Hicks who supported our advancement, and to all the Board members who agreed to advance the breed. With the effort of everyone involved we received a unanimous vote to advance to the next level, Advanced New Breed. From here we can advance to the Champion status in one year. Our goal this next year is to show our cats in TICA, encourage others to join, register ,and show their Donskoy cats to increase our presence in the TICA association. This goal to Champion status is now easily within our reach if we continue to work together to further advance the breed. Thank you all, I am so grateful for your support and help throughout this process. Sincerely, Kathryn Eden TICA Working Breed Chair
