The EU Centre and the Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) are co-organising a Public Lecture by Dr Richard Youngs (Senior Associate at Carnegie Europe) entitled “The Uncertain Legacy of Crisis: European Foreign Policy Faces the Future” on the 20 October 2014. The European Union (EU) is mired in the worst crisis since its founding, and the crisis does not stop at Europe’s edge: it has forced member states to re-evaluate their approach to security and defence, and is a threat to the EU’s ambition to develop foreign policy capacity and brand image. In this public lecture, Dr Youngs will examine the legacy of the crisis and share how the EU can craft an effective foreign policy strategy in the midst of overcoming an internal economic crisis and an ever-changing global order. This event will be held at SIIA’s premises, Atrium@Orchard on the 20 October, 5.30pm to 7pm. To register, please go to eucentre.sg/?p=8572
