The Embassy in Tirana commissioned in 2014, an evaluation of the project “Support to Further Development and Implementation of an IT Employment Service System (ESS) at the Albanian National Employment Service (NES), 2011-2013”. The report shows that the Swedish funded project’s outputs have left the National Employment Service in a strong position to progress in the provision of effective employment service to jobseekers as well as to employers looking for staff. The IT Employment Service System developed by the project is demonstrably easier to use and more effective in the storage and accessing of employer and jobseeker data and as a result fits well within the new service model being implemented across the NES. The changes have been very well received by Employment Officers, with strong indications of support also from jobseekers and employers, and are strongly supported within Government.
