The Galesburg Augusta JV softball team once again battled the weather and a strong Schoolcraft team. The Rams lost the first game 10-1 but was able to bounce back in game two with a strong hitting performance against the same pitcher they faced in game one. “We struggled in our first game adjusting to the speed and different pitches that the Schoolcraft pitcher was throwing. “ said Coach Merasco. “Despite the loss, I felt it was the first time this season we were able to put some things together defensively and the pitching of Anna DeLeon continues to improve with each game. In the second game the Rams put together a strong offensive attack collecting 10 hits in a time shortened game to finish with a 11-11 tie. Payton DeYoung had 2 hits which both were doubles, Natalie Hosmer collected two hits and Anna DeLeon added 3 hits including a double and triple. Erin Patterson once again contributed a strong pitching performance for the Lady Rams. There next game is Tuesday at Delton. The next home game is Wednesday against Plainwell.
