The Game Changer “that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him,” (Ephesians 1:17). If you lived in the days of Jesus earthly ministry, what would have been that ONE prayer you could have prayed for JESUS? Yes, for Jesus Christ! I certainly would have acted like Peter, James and John who couldn’t find any reason to pray for Jesus, but rather slept peacefully while Jesus agonized in Gethsemane. The Ephesians Church was pretty perfect in conduct to the point that Paul had no ground for rebuke or correction of the members. This church was not bristled with problems like others, so what prayer was essential for these people? Ephesians 1:15-19, Paul prayed that God will give them the SPIRIT of wisdom and revelation to know Him better. This is a game changer! The Spirit of wisdom and revelation is NOT wisdom and revelation; it is the producer of wisdom and revelation. The humble spirit produces humility, the unclean spirit produces uncleanness and the spirit of infirmity produces infirmities. It is true to say that an apple tree is NOT an apple; it yields apple fruits. Now, without having that tree you can still get apple to eat, you just may not get as much as an owner of an apple tree. The Spirit of wisdom and revelation enables you to operate prolifically and frequently in God’s wisdom and revelation. This was the secret of Paul’s abundant wisdom and revelation that anchored his faith and morphed him into an unstoppable, solid, living messenger of Jesus, who was credited with the authorship of over 60% of the New Testament books. Many times the Roman authorities imprisoned him, but they could not imprison the advancement of the gospel of Christ through him. And even the book of Ephesians was written by him from the prison in Rome. I want to encourage you to prayerfully confess this prayer of Paul over yourself, and the people in your sphere of influence as often as you can. This is outreach!
