The Home Group of Mickey Istte will meet this Sunday at 5PM in the home of Mary Williams at 711 w. South St. in Welsh. Last session Dean St Cyr lead the group as I had a family event to attend. So, we will be looking at the Doctrine of the Church once again. In this particular session we will look at a Biblical model for what church should look like. We will look at the Biblical normative (the norm for our churches). Church is about the Lord. Today the modern church has morphed into a man-centered and man generated event. We need to reconstitute the church where the Lord is the centerpiece of our gatherings in the House of God. I distinctly remember one Sunday morning when I was pastoring doing something I had never seen done or even heard of anyone doing before. I had come to the place where I was sick of flesh, of mans flesh taking center stage and hogging all the glory in our church services and activities. So, on Sunday morning before anyone said anything, before anyone sang anything, before one note of music I got up in the pulpit and I had everyone on the platform step off the platform including my self. I had everyone come to the altars and face the platform. Then I said we are going to honor the Lord this morning by giving Him the sole place of honor on the platform where no flesh stands beside Him. The Lord is the only one on this platform at this moment this morning. Now, lets lifts our hands to the Lord of Glory and praise Him. When we did the glory of God fell in that church and filled every crevice and crack. People began to weep profusely, some were on their knees, some were on their faces laying prostrate, some were bowed over, but ALL sensed the Presence of God. We stayed at the altar a good 15-20 minutes just worshipping our Great God. That morning we stepped down all flesh and gave God all the Glory.
